(A) Week 1 Overview — Start Here
Welcome to Unit 1: Ear Before Eye
The whole course in one sentence: you already hear this — we're training the ear you already own. This week no page stands between you and the sound: keep a pulse, feel beats group in twos and fours, match tones, echo melodies, and learn to find and hold a song's home tone — do, the word we borrow early. This morning, theory names the map; an hour later this room trains the territory.

How to succeed: make sound daily, in small doses: five ten-minute sessions beat one fifty-minute session, every time.
(B) Welcome Announcement — Week 1

Hi everyone, and welcome to MUS 155!
Every song you've figured out by ear was training for this course. This week proves it: no notation, just pulse, pitch, and finding the tone a song calls home, out loud, together.
Do Tutorial 1 before session 1 — twenty minutes, and it gives you the words the studio uses. Session 2 ends with the first skills check: eight questions, all ears, practiced that same morning. Recordings and practice close at the end of the week. Next week: Pulse in the body.
Bring your speaking voice. It's enough.
