(A) Week 11 Overview — Start Here
Welcome to Unit 11: Harmonic Listening I
Harmony week. This morning in theory Roman numerals become legal, and an hour later your ear starts filing progressions under them. The route in is the bass: sing the floor of each chord and the loop names itself. Two firsts: calling gig progressions by number after two hearings, and writing in the bass clef — the term's first bass-line dictation, including an eight-bar phrase (one loop played twice; trust the loop).

Why this makes you a better musician
Progressions stored as numbers transpose for free: name the loop once and you own it in every key. You no longer just feel that the band went somewhere — you can say where, call it in numbers, and land the change with them.
How to succeed: sing the bass of everything you hear this week. Ten minutes a day, floor first.

Hi everyone,
In this morning's theory session you learned the names — I, IV, V, the whole Roman-numeral family. An hour later we put them in your ears: sing the bass under real chord loops, name progressions by number, write your first bass-clef line. That raised note your ear caught back in minor week finally explains itself — it lives inside V7, doing the pulling.
Do Tutorial 11 before session 1 — it drills the one conversion the studio leans on (V means sol in the bass). Session 2 ends with the skills check, practiced that morning. Recordings and practice close at the end of the week. Next unit: Harmonic listening II.
