Two pieces: (A) the Unit 13 Overview page and (B) the Announcement. All timing uses the course's tokens.

(A) Week 13 Overview — Start Here

Welcome to Unit 13: Two Voices, Heard from Inside

This morning in theory the rules of two-voice writing get named; an hour later you stand inside them: rounds in two groups, one line held against another, parallel fifths collapsing a duet into one thickened voice, the two pulls every close leans on. Session 2 brings a handoff: your week-15 prepared final melodies, two weeks early — the break sits just before the final, and the break is study time, not decay time.

Work the table top to bottom.

# Do this Type Points Due
1 Tutorial 13 — AI tutor: motion types ⟷ interval pairs; why parallels fuse Tutorial 10 before session 1
2 Drill Studio 13 — rounds, the fifths hunt, one-against-one, the handoff Studio 20 in session
3 Practice 13 — the daily ten-minute two-voice loop + AI coach Practice 5 the end of the week
4 Skills Check 13 — 8 live-hearing items, in class, session 2, closed to AI Skills check 8 session 2
5 Submission 13 — the round-partner recording (duet with yourself) + diagnosis Submission 100 the end of the week

The late-work policy is in the syllabus.

Why this makes you a better musician

The harmony vocal that works is a line, not a shadow. After this week you can hear — from inside, while singing — whether your part still has a life of its own or has fused into the melody. That's the difference between doubling a tune and singing with someone.

How to succeed: your final music arrives session 2. One melody a day from then on.

(B) Announcement — Week 13

Subject: Bring your voice — you're one half of a duet all week

Hi everyone,

This week the room splits in two: rounds (yes, Frère Jacques — the oldest two-voice teacher there is), votes on which textures are really two voices, a line held while the piano argues with you. In the recording, your phone is the second singer — you duet with yourself.

Do Tutorial 13 before session 1 so the words are loaded. Session 2 ends with the skills check and a handoff: your prepared final melodies for Unit 15, early on purpose. Practice and recordings close at the end of the week. Next unit: Embellishment and the outer voices.

See you in the studio — both halves of you.
